Basic Info
Name:Captain James Hook
Bio
HookCharacter: Captain James Hook
Series: Peter Pan / Kingdom Hearts
Version: Post Tink’s Capture
Age: Unknown
Gender: Male
Sexuality: Heterosexual

Appearance: As a constant concern of looking his finest Hook is always seen wearing extravagant attire. Atop his head a large red feathered hat often rests while matching his best red coat and knee breeches. His sword hangs securely fastened to his side should he ever need to draw it while coal coloured boots dress his feet. However the gleam of their golden buckles remains no match to the captain’s most recognizable feature: his silver hook. In place of his left hand it is usually found, though on special occasions he may change it to another one of his many accessory pieces from his Sunday set such as a corkscrew or nut cracker. Regardless of the captain’s slender figure Hook is still a very tall and daunting man. His dark features make him certainly frightening to any child to say the least. He has tired green eyes, long dark curls, a pointed moustache and large nose which gives the pirate a strange resemblance to King Charles the Second, proclaimed king of Scotland, England and Ireland.

Personality: Anyone familiar with the story of Peter Pan can tell you Hook is certainly the black hearted scoundrel he proclaims himself to be. As malevolent as his reputation precedes him, the pirate captain is malicious, dangerous and above all evil. Without conscience the man is far from shy to draw his sword or fire his pistol, known to kill a man simply for interrupting his train of thought. If not death, such drastic punishment as keelhauling or boiling one in oil is considered with ease. Why, these may even be used as means to persuade one to see in his favour. However, regardless of such behaviour, Hook also sees himself to be a true gentleman; well-mannered, noble and kind when he chooses to be. He prefers to present himself as the calm, cool and collective man who always remains in control of the situation. One should be warned though; this image may quickly melt away when one chooses to antagonize the pirate, having a short temper Hook may abruptly turn violent. As though this were not enough to worry about Hook is also considerably crafty and quite capable of getting his way to an extent. Of course, as dangerous as Hook may be, he is also known to stir a fair share of laughter. Fortunately, as clever as the pirate may be his incompetents always appears to catch up with him at the end of the day. As a result his cowardice is prone to show through, exhibiting Hook accepting defeat, pleading for help and often having his clothes torn to pieces. As a fop such events always fuel his devotion for a wicked revenge.

Abilities/Weaponry/Strengths: As briefly mentioned Hook is surprisingly cunning and has a dangerously good eye for loopholes in contracts or deals. If possible he will not hesitate to use this knowledge to his advantage. Such is the case in the event the pirate promises not to lay hand nor hook on Peter Pan. However, that does allow him to leave a bomb in the boy’s hideout since he never said he would not do that. He is also known to be quite the actor, specializing in plucking the heart strings of his victims as he did with Tinkerbelle to find out where Peter’s hideout was in the first place. Though quite foolish at times, the captain also holds the ability to see through a majority of tricks, especially those of Peter Pan’s. Unlike the rest of the crew the mention of an evil spirits presence smells suspicious opposed to frightening. As far as his experience with weapons goes, Hook is quite the skilled swordsman, capable of using both his hook as well as a sword when fighting. He also has remarkable aim with a pistol, capable to hit his target from a fair distance.

Weaknesses: It should come as no surprise that the captain’s hook falls as a disadvantage of his. Often while fighting he will manage to get it stuck in something, slowing him down considerably. Another deficiency of his would be his temper. Though nowhere near as bad as Hades’, it still relatively short and holds the ability to cloud Hook’s better judgment. A most interesting cogitation will be Hook’s ability to hold his own in Smee’s absents, the man almost completely reliant on his first mate. How long he will last without the man’s care is anyone’s guess. The captain’s greatest weakness however is his continuous fear of the crocodile who Peter fed his hand to. At one point another one will hear the man grumble or weep about the ‘horrid beast’ that has followed him ever since in hopes of eating the rest of him. Luckily for Hook the crocodile also managed to swallow his alarm clock, the sound of its tick-tock warning him when the creature draws near, however the sound has come to haunt the pirate over the years. The sound of any ticking clock is enough to send the man into a frenzy of fear.

History:
No one is quite certain where Hook came from. As long as there has been Neverland, Captain Hook has threatened its inhabitants. How did he become a pirate, who were his parents, what was his true name? The answers remain unknown. His past remains much of a mystery before his encounter with Peter Pan. Some say he had originally come to Neverland as a lost boy, later banished by Peter. Others argue he sailed there after capturing a pixie and forcing her to lead him to treasure. No one knows for sure, including his crew. Hook shows no intent of sharing such information and if he did it would most certainly be a lie.

Hook’s story begins the day a young boy by the name of Peter Pan not only stole his treasure but cut off his left hand and fed it to a crocodile in the process. Outraged the captain swore revenge, promising to kill the boy himself had he ever the chance again. He searched endlessly across Neverland for the flying boy and his hideout, leaving destruction and despair behind him. The captain had just finished raiding Cannibal Cove and set his sights on the Indian Camp before finding an unexpected visitor aboard his vessel: Pete.

As an unknown henchman of Maleficent at the time he explained to the captain the witch’s plans to achieve power. Though suspicious, Hook agreed to join her side for his own personal gain. When promised ultimate power and control of the Heartless, what villain could object? In joining forces with Maleficent Hook quickly found he was capable of travelling to other words far simpler than before. His crew, with the exception of Smee, was also replaced with Heartless. Though their presence unnerved the captain he found they were far more manageable than his old crew, especially when it came to holding their tongue.

It was not long until Maleficent began to send the captain out to fulfil tasks for her. This greatly irritated Hook, taking orders from others was not particularity something he enjoyed, but he agreed to it. Unknown to him why the witch desired to collect the seven Princesses of Heart he was still none the less sent out to kidnap Wendy who at the time was suspected to be one of them. He was also entrusted with Kairi until Maleficent sent Riku to collect the last Princess of Heart. It was around the same time Riku set foot on Hook’s ship a familiar keyblade barer and his friends appeared. Considered a threat to not only Maleficent’s plans but Riku’s as well they were effortlessly captured and held in the ships Hold.

Later that evening Riku revealed that Wendy was not one of the Princess of Heart. He ordered that Hook hoist anchor and leave Wendy behind. Close to his last straw by the decision after not only the trouble of capturing the girl but also being ordered around by the boy he also found that his adversary Peter Pan was aboard the ship and freed his prisoners. Furious he ordered his hostage be brought to his cabin, however Peter managed to get to Wendy first. This falls as far from a setback for the pirate though, for in a wave of jealousy Tinker Bell abandoned Peter allowing him to capture her with ease. Much to Hook’s pleasure Riku left shortly after this with Kairi. As Tinker Bell his new hostage he eagerly awaited Peter’s return for her before appearing in Paixao.
